Lydie’s Pizza Experience Part I

on September 09, 2010

Hi!  It’s Lydie and I am blogging about my experience on trying unique toppings on a pizza.  The entire making my own pizza with unique toppings idea was interesting to me because I don’t cook much around the house, and as some of you might know I’m probably the pickiest eater on this show;  So doing this episode was very interesting for me.  On the first day Keaton, Charlie and I went to Apart Pizza and made our own pizzas (with some help from Chef Armando and Chef Joshua).  After we ate our pizzas Chef Joshua sent us to a bakery in Evanston called Bennison’s.  The Baker, Jory showed us how to make bread.  In the end we got to make our own shaped bread in five minutes, my shape was a panda.  Next Jory sent us off to the Green City Farmers Market.  There, Keaton, Charlie and I met up with a women named Vicki and she told us about her farm and what she grows at her farm.  We also met up with a woman named Paula who told us about microgreens and in the end we got to try them.  After learning about a few crops we were assigned a challenge. . .

(Stay tuned to hear more about the challenge!)
