The Basics

Berbere is a combination of peppers, garlic, onion and other spices that are dried and ground into a powdered form. The spices flavor meats and beans, and are definitely tango on your tongue.

Injera is a soft, flat, spongy bread that looks like a big crepe or a pancake. Food is scooped up with this bread and eaten. Consider injera your fork and spoon!

Netir Kibe Butter cooked with garlic, ginger, cardamon, corriander and other Ethiopian spices. The butter is strained through cheese cloth to become purified.
